Leading multi-market trading

We maximize the lifetime value of your battery investment.

The Capalo AI turn-key service, Capalo Zeus VPP™, provides you with route-to-market access, AI-optimized trading across all markets, and Balance Responsible Party (BRP) and Balance Service Provider (BSP) services, managing everything from prequalification through lifetime value maximization for your asset.

Capalo Zeus VPP™ is powered by AI-driven, fully automated multi-market trading and optimization strategies. Its self-learning models use multi-layer AI algorithms to identify and prioritize the highest-value revenue opportunities. With this approach, we help you combat market saturation and ensure that each standalone battery and hybrid asset achieves maximum lifecycle value, while respecting asset-specific warranty constraints.

Portfolio Optimization

What distinguishes Capalo AI’s approach is our portfolio optimization model, which manages large-scale assets within a country as a single aggregated virtual pool while still respecting the unique characteristics and constraints of each asset. This pooling approach accounts for the portfolio’s impact on prices, enabling optimal allocation of capacity and energy across markets. As a result, flexibility is distributed between the markets where value is the highest for you as the asset owner, effectively mitigating market saturation across the portfolio.

Stand‑alone and co‑located BESS

We deliver end-to-end optimization and trading for both stand-alone and co-located battery energy storage systems. The Capalo AI Zeus VPP™ optimization engine accounts for capacity and energy market prices and forecasts, related uncertainties, meteorological data, imbalances and activations, and ultra-fast real-time market dynamics, while automatically respecting asset-level constraints such as power-rating, energy capacities, cycle warranties, as well as grid restrictions and curtailment.

Our proprietary models are built and continuously enhanced in-house by an R&D team of  PhD-level mathematicians, data scientists, and AI/ML engineers. The end-to-end trading cycle is managed automatically from all Day-Ahead gate closures through the fast-moving Intraday environment.

We also optimize the utilization of hybrid assets to maximize the value of the entire facility, the result of years of intense R&D efforts. The automated models are fine-tuned to manage the added complexity of renewable forecasting, imbalance and curtailment management, optimising multi-market participation for the whole facility.

Our sophisticated models manage opportunity costs across multiple markets, allocating ancillary service activations between the production and BESS facilities while operating within grid capacity constraints. Our objective is to maximise your earnings for the whole hybrid asset, within the bounds of the commercial and operational constraints.

Route-to-market service

We provide a route-to-market service for asset owners, with a direct and transparent path to the power markets. Operating as both a Balance Responsible Party (BRP) and Balance Service Provider (BSP), we bring neutrality, transparency, and alignment of interests, giving you a clear and performance-driven route to market participation.

With a proven delivery record, our dedicated prequalification engineers have enabled more than 300 MW of capacity to enter the balancing markets, while our asset integration specialists have successfully connected over 50 customer assets to TSO interfaces in four countries. You will benefit from 24/7 visibility into trading performance via a dashboard showing realized revenues and current trading period estimates. In addition, our designated Key Account Managers conduct regular performance reviews with customers, providing insights into results and the market dynamics driving fleet performance.
